Specializing in Grief, Complex Trauma, & Self-Esteem
Whitney believes that only you are the true expert of your own life. She also understands that sometimes the most transformative change comes from a deeply vulnerable place. Through Whitney’s calm demeanor and person-centered approach, she creates a safe, kind, and compassionate space to access growth.
Whitney enjoys working with individuals rediscovering life after trauma(s), those looking to reclaim their self-esteem, and those experiencing varying degrees of anxiety, depression, and/or panic. Whitney incorporates a variety of approaches, including EMDR and expressive arts.
Whitney is also passionate about providing grief therapy to adults and specializes in Prolonged Grief Disorder. Whitney believes grief is an invitation to remember, laugh, mourn, and cry but also sees grief as an opportunity for immense individual growth. Whitney understands grief therapy can help you rediscover joy that isn’t defined by loss. Clients emerge with a new sense of hope and meaning.
Though originally from Austin, Texas, Whitney has been proud to call the Traverse City area her home since 2009. In her free time Whitney can be found roaming the beaches of Leelanau, swimming, gardening with her husband and daughter, and dabbling in a variety of creative hobbies.
